Testing is one of the most important quality assurance measures in software development process. Effective test cases are the fundaments for testing. IDATG (Integrating Design and Automated Test Case Generation) is a specification technique and a tool for automated test case generation used in testing industrial interactive application. The aim of this thesis is to improve the database access performance faced by IDATG. This work first presents an introduction in software testing, the test case generator IDATG and the process involved in data modelling. It also includes an analysis of different DBMS and database APIs. A detail analysis of the existing DAPI and various benchmark tests performed to design the new data access technique is explained. Finally the re-designed database model and the new API are presented.

Testen ist eine der wichtigsten Qualitätssicherungsmaßnahmen in Software Entwicklungsprozess. Effektiv Testfälle sind das Fundament für das Testen. IDATG (Integrating Design and Automated Test Case Generation) besteht aus einer Spezifikationsmethode und einem Tool zur automatischen Generierung von Testfällen. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Verbesserung der Datenbank-Performance von IDATG. Zu Begin wird auf das Testen von Software im Allgemeinen eingegangen. Des weiteren wird IDATG und der mit IDATG verbundenen Prozess der Datenmodellierung vorgestellt. Die Arbeit enthält einen Überblick über verschiedenen Datenbanksysteme und -APIs. Eine Detailanalyse des vorhandenen DAPI und verschiedenen Benchmark Test, die durchgeführt werden, um die neue Datenzugangstechnik zu entwerfen, wird erklärt Abschließend wird ein verbessertes Datenbankmodell sowie ein neues API für IDATG vorgestellt.
