English abstract:
In this paper we present TEMPLE, a language designed for modelling
and solving staff scheduling problems. In TEMPLE a particular
staff scheduling task is described with intervals, relationships
between intervals, user-defined properties, curves and constraints.
Once a problem has been defined in TEMPLE it can be solved automatically by using a generic local-search-based solver. We demonstrate how real-life staff scheduling problems can be modelled with TEMPLE and show that the solutions obtained with our approach
are of satisfying quality.
